Blogging takes a lot of time

I am starting to see why some people are professional bloggers and literally spend all day doing just their blog. I mean, I’m as quick a typist as most and it still takes an age to get from deciding you’re goign to post something to it actually being up on your site, and that’s taking into account how easy it is to do with wordpress. In the last hour I’ve posted 3 fairly long posts, and I don’t think anyone wil argue the toss on the importance of the Rachel Riley post, but the problem is that in the last hour I was supposed to be scripting the continuity for 3e for next week. Now I’m an hour behind, and while the blog is bang up to date (huzzah) I’m way behind with one of the things that pays the bills!! Boo Erns
So, I’m not bloggging any more tonight, I’m officially too busy…

Could Countdown be the best programme on TV? Ever?

My Nana always used to say “There’s never anything on TV, I never turn it on before countdown”. For her (and she was in her 90s at the time), TV time began at countdown time. As I watched it today, I thought (a) Isn’t it great to have a job that affords you the time to watch countdown of an afternoon, and (b) what would Nana think of Carol Vorderman’s replacement. The thinking man’s crumpet I believe she was oft referred to was sensationally replaced last year by some blow in because Channel 4 wanted to take away all Carol’s money (I’m summarising).

Enter Rachel Riley in her short tight dresses:

Would Nana have Approved?

Probably not....

By gum can she crunch the numbers, and well done her.

What I love about countdown is that I watch it smugly thinking that anyone who is good enough to actually get on the programme must be a real loser with no life outside of scrabble and boggle, while at the same time thinking that Rachel one is tidy, Jeff Stelling is a bit of an odd one, and if I manage to get a 6 letter word or more and within 100 of the numbers game, I’m a total ledgend.

So, am I the only one with the guilty countdown secret pleasure?
