			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Still sick. This is rubbish!! No way I could go to the gym today, was too busy blowing my nose to even think about it. However, the badminton team couldn&#8217;t find anyone to sub for me at the last minute, so I had to go out to Lucan and play 2 badminton matches. We lost both (boo erns). In fact, everyone on our team lost their match except for our first mixed doubles team (god be good to them), so we took another hammering. No more matches until the new year now.</p>
<p>In terms of exercise, playing two matches was better than nothing and considering how sick I was feeling, I took it.</p>
<p>Bad though.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Disaster. Unmitigated, total and utter disaster.</p>
<p>I could just leave it there to be honest. Today&#8217;s training was a badminton match. It was against an Aer Lingus team, and we lost. Again. And worse, I played horrifically badly. Like awful. Each match I play a mens doubles and a mixed doubles. Both matches went to three sets, and in both, I threw away about 10-15 cheap points just be hitting my serve out or missing an easy shot or anything.</p>
<p>4 hours sitting around in a cold hall in Rathmines, for 20 minutes of me playing rubbish and getting no proper exercise because I didn&#8217;t play well enough to give anyone a decent game.</p>
<p>To be honest, it was still exercise, it still counts, and I could actually have taken the day off having done 3 days good training Monday to Wendesday. BUT I caved on the diet. It completely fell apart. I got some bad news, and I just fell apart and comfort ate the hell out of it! I mean, I know how hard it has been to shed 6lbs. It has taken me the guts of 8 weeks to shift them, and I&#8217;m not kidding when I say I ate enough to put back on 3 or 4 of those in one day. I had 3 or 4 packets of crisps, a big bag of jellies, a couple of bars of chocolate and a few other bits and pieces, and I didn&#8217;t have proper lunch or dinner&#8230;It&#8217;s the undoing of me it really is. When I get down, I start eating junk food at a rate that is truly shocking, and I don&#8217;t even feel any better after it because I feel down that I&#8217;ve taken a step backwards.</p>
<p>Safe to say that today wasn&#8217;t a good day. In fact, of the 30, it was the worse one I&#8217;ve have. Even the 1st day where I just ate custard creams was probably better for my marathon training than today.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today&#8217;s training was absolute pants. I didnt do any gym work or swimming so i was just relying on badminton for all my physical workout, and except for an epic halfcourt singles knockup, it would have been a complete waste of time to be honest. I played 2 games of mixed doubles with my partner, then that was basically it and everyone was left to their own devices. 3 out of 8 our team weren&#8217;t there, which makes it very hard to train as a team. Bit of a catch 22 because i&#8217;ve no interest in going if it&#8217;s shit like it was tonight, but then if i dont go and everyone else turns up, it&#8217;s me making it shit for them, if you see what i mean?</p>
<p>Anyway, i pushed hard when i played and probably got a good 20 minutes or half an hour out of the session, and since i was wrecked anyway, i&#8217;m going to count that as a result.</p>
<p>I met a friend for lunch, but had a &#8220;healthy&#8221; 30% less fat pizza. As far as i can work out, what Milanos do is cut the centre out of the pizza and bung a salad in the gap. Hardly surprising it&#8217;s 30% less fat, there&#8217;s 30% less pizza!</p>

<p>I finished off the box of after eights i had bought myself on Friday and also had a packet of hula hoops today, so overall, it has not been the best of days. I&#8217;m down at the cheerios childline concert all day tomorrow, so i dont know when i&#8217;ll squeeze any exercise in&#8230;arse, arse and double arse&#8230;here&#8217;s to a more successful tomorrow!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>First badminton match of the season for us today (having had 2 matches cancelled already) so I was hoping for a good runaround sufficient to tick my exercise boxes for today. I remember my competitive badminton days as being among the fittest I have ever been. Some matches were absolutely epic affairs that had you constantly on the go for well over an hour at warp speed. Bu in order to speed of the game they have changed the rules. Bastards. Previously, you could only win a point when you were serving. Now points are won regardless of serve. This genuinely makes the games go by a lot quicker, about 50-60% quicker I could guess.</p>
<p>This means that playing badminton in a competitive environment doesnt keep you as fit (in my uneducated opinion) as it used to, so the exercise I got at our match was good but not great. I&#8217;m starting go realise that just going to badminton training/matches isn&#8217;t alwasy going to be enough (on days like today, for example) to tick all the &#8220;get fit&#8221; boxes. That&#8217;s a bit disappointing, because now I&#8217;ll have to squeeze in going to the gym AND going to play badminton, which is a bit time consuming.</p>
<p>Since I know you&#8217;re dying to know, I won the mens doubles game I was playing, but lost the mixed doubles, and our team as a whole were pretty much thrashed. That&#8217;s being a bit unfair actually. All the games were very close, but the end result will flatter the other team I reckon. I think we might have lost 6-2&#8230;.god maybe it was 7-1? Anyway, we lost, let&#8217;s leave it at that.  We&#8217;ve another match tomorrow night, so let&#8217;s see how that goes!!</p>
