Marathon Training – Days 87 & 88

Well, there’s not a whole lot of nothing going on in terms of marathon training, the last two days I haven’t done any. I’ve done stretches to try and loosen up whatever it is that’s causing these Effing Shin Splints, but it’s not really working to be honest. I might be going drinking with my friend who is a physio on Saturday and he has always said, and I have always agreed with him, that he does his best stuff (work and otherwise) when he’s drunk, so if we do end up drinking together on Saturday night, I fully expect to be right as rain come Sunday.

I don’t really see any point in waffling on trying to fill up more space here. I’m injured and very disheartened. I could still be doing exercise that doesn’t involve my legs (like weights and situps and the like for example) but I can’t be arsed. I know that’s terrible, and not the spirit at all, but there you have it, I’m a bad person, bite me!

My diet has also gone to hell, but I’m in a place (where I’m moaning and sulking about my shins) that I can actually enjoy it at the moment. So I’m stuffing myself relvatively guilt free, though of course I know that this is fairly short sighted of me!
